Last week we were back in the iconic Brixton Academy, but this time for a very special performance by Tom Grennan which was streamed live in Virtual Reality.
Right from the start, Tom, his team at Various Artists, and Melody VR wanted to do something unique that was exciting and engaging to watch at home.
We set about creating another imaginative experience, and provided creative production direction for the entire performance, including band stage plots, lighting, video playback, effects, and lasers.
We decided early on to use the fact it would only be viewed online to our advantage, and enlisted AC Lasers to work with us and create laser effects that are only achievable with the rolling shutter of a camera.
We also brought in Stuart Merser from Vis-A-Vis to supply and direct Video Dust and a full camera package for the live show.
The end result saw the full show take place on the same night that Tom announced his exciting new album and released his latest single, Amen.
